I searched high and low for a mattress that does not contain any plastic or waterproof treatment. I do not want my children to breathe chemicals all night while they sleep. And frankly, as each crib wearing plastic, what's the point with a waterproof pad anyway? We have made great efforts here to keep these chemicals from our children including a special cover for the mattress (to keep off-gas removed) and a wonderful, thick wool topper, which is what I wanted to cover. We slip just a little puddle-wool pads in between the topper and mattress pad to keep the topper from getting wet and everything is fine. I highly recommend this product over a waterproof pad out there.

I recently purchased this item while it fits nice now I haven't washed it but the car label washing instructions are detailed and I don't see why it would shrink with proper the proper wash. The obly thing it isn't as soft and fluffy as I would like it's betterthan the plain mattress and sheet but I wish it was a bit more comfy for my son, since he likes my bed.

I also went in search of a scrub pad that is not backed by crumpled plastic or vinyl, etc., for which other people take note, most mattresses are "watertight" as they are. Crib mattresses are also very solid and flat. This cotton ball adds a nice layer of softness without being too soft. It fits well. Ingeo, stuffing (made from corn), is a bio-plastics or biodegradable plastics, such as Wikipedia states. If you are determined to be no plastic or bioplastic in your pad, this may not be for you. But I will drive yourself batty if I try to get rid of all plastic-related products in the house!

Our baby's mattress is already covered with waterproof material, which is why I wanted a mattress pad, to add some cotton comfort between him and the polyester. This is perfect.

I searched far and wide for a crib mattress pad that doesn't have a vinyl backing. I have a waterproof naturpedic mattress so i don't necesarily need a waterproof pad. This one is really soft and thick so I think it would do a good job of absorbing any spills anyways. Have not used this yet since the little one hasn't yet arrived but I did wash it, it held up but i do notice a small tear in one of the seams on the side. That's why i gave it 4 starts instead of 5. But it's still worth it to me to not have the vinyl and plastic backing even if I have to replace it eventually. It did not shrink in the dryer and fits the mattress pretty well..I will probably order another soon

I bought this because my baby loves to sleep on her tummy with her face to the mattress. Her mattress is plastic and so I wanted something softer for her little face.
The only problem I have with this product is that I have to struggle with it when covering the mattress; it is very very snugged.

Having spent a lot of money to buy a top of the line mattress for my 8 month old (Colgate Classic), I was dismayed at how much he absolutely hated sleeping in it. He would toss and turn for about 5 minutes, after which he would cry bitterly and I had no choice but to have him sleep with me in my bed. After doing a lot of research and looking at other reviews on Amazon, I decided to give the Sealy mattress pad a shot - all I can say is, Thank you Sealy. It is wonderfully soft, totally water-proof, fits all standard crib mattresses perfectly (without making it hard for the mattress cover to go on) and is easy to change and wash. The baby took to it after a little bit of tossing and turning and I am a happy camper. I highly recommend this product.
